Pumpkin children won DKK 2,000 in nationwide photo competition

Seven cool children's photographers from Pumpestationen went to Tivoli on Wednesday 17 September to celebrate winning DKK 2,000 in the photo competition 'Children and young people focus on nature', launched by Ungdomsringen just before the summer holidays.

Children aged 10-18 years attending a club or youth school could take part in the nationwide competition aimed at getting children and young people interested in nature and nature photography.

Carlos, Samuel, Oskar, Albert, Polly, Frederikke and Aryan from Pumpestationen won the Urban Nature category. Before the summer holidays, they walked around Østerbro and the lakes to use their mobile phones to take photos of everything from roses with buzzing bees, city gardens and birdhouses in Holsteinsgade to bird feathers, squirrels and swans by the lakes.

Ungdomsringen is an association of clubs and youth schools and has approximately 750 member clubs.

The photo competition is a collaboration between Ungdomsringen, Friluftsrådet, NORION Consult, Kulturhusene i Danmark and Danmarks Biblioteksforening.

Congratulations to the seven photographers. We plan to exhibit some of their photos in the near future. In addition, during the winter we will be organising photo trips out of the house, which all interested children can sign up for. Stay tuned to our newsletter for more information.
